About the Movie
Tangled is about a young girl named Rapunzel who has long
golden hair, and many dreams. She was kidnapped by a witch
when she was a baby because of the secret healing powers her
hair holds from the drop of sunlight capable of healing the injured and sick. Each year on her birthday, the King and Queen, Rapunzel's parents, send lanterns into the sky, hoping that their daughter, the lost princess, will return. On the eve of Rapunzel's 18th birthday, Rapunzel's asks the witch, Mother Gothel, if she can leave her tower to discover where the floating lights are coming from and if they're meant for her. Mother Gothel refuses
but agrees to bring her new paints. While she is gone, Rapunzel encounters a thief, named Flynn Rider, who enters her tower and agrees to take her. On their journey, Rapunzel and Flynn encounter many people including the thug's from the Snuggly Duckling, who all have dreams like Rapunzel, the guards who are trying to catch Flynn for stealing a crown, and the Stabbington brothers who are also after Flynn for ditching them. Eventually they make it the the kingdom where Rapunzel fulfills her dream of seeing the floating lights. This is where Rapunzel and Flynn realize that they have fallen in love while on their journey and almost kiss. But, before they do, Flynn notices the Stabbington brothers watching them from the shore. The Stabbington brothers knock out Flynn for betraying them and make up a story that Flynn is escaping with the crown. This makes Rapunzel feel betrayed and used. Mother Gothel comes to Rapunzel's rescue and brings her back to the tower. Rapunzel soon realizes she's the lost princess when she sees the symbol of the kingdom all over her room in her paintings that she has done over the years. She realizes that Mother Gothel isn't her mother and was only using her for her magical hair to stay young. When Flynn comes to save Rapunzel, he sees Rapunzel tied up and is then stabbed by Mother Gothel. Rapunzel begs Mother Gothel to save him with her healing powers. Mother Gothel agrees, but only if Rapunzel agrees to live with her forever. Rapunzel begins to heal him until Eugene cuts off all of her hair with a shard of glass, leaving Rapunzel's hair brown and powerless. Mother Gothel's age then catches up with her and she dies because she is too old to still be alive. Eugene also dies because Rapunzel was unable to heal him. But, when Rapunzel starts to cry, one of her tears, which seams to have powers from the sun, lands on his cheek, which brings him back to life. Rapunzel and Eugene return to the kingdom where Raunzel is reunited with her parents. The kingdom breaks out into a celebration and crimes disappears in the kingdom overnight. Eugene eventually asks Rapunzel to marry him.
